Pet Care Coverage

Travel Insured International recognizes that your household pet is an important member of your family who is often left at home in the care of a boarding facility during your trip. Should an illness or accident occur during your trip that delays your trip due to in-patient hospitalization, the extended care of your pet can become your unforeseen added expense.

Travel Insured recognizes this potential risk of loss by including Pet Care Coverage with either our comprehensive Worldwide Trip Protector or Worldwide Trip Protector Gold plans. This included coverage is not available in either the Worldwide Trip Protector Lite or Lite Expanded plans.

What is Covered with Pet Care

Pet Care coverage provides for up to $50 per day in additional pet boarding fees to a maximum $300 in protection when your return from your trip is delayed more than 24 hours due to a hospital in-patient treatment abroad. This covered expense would be the result of your pet exceeding a pre-booked period of accommodation with a recognized boarding kennel, cattery or animal shelter.

What is Not Covered with Pet Care

The Pet Care coverage is not payable if your hospitalization abroad was not covered due to any of the general exclusions in your Worldwide Trip Protector plan. Additionally, the claim for Pet Care coverage must be substantiated by a written report from the boarding kennel, cattery or animal shelter. The covered Pet Care fees exclude any fees incurred in the first 24 hours which did not form part of your pre-booked period of Pet Care accommodation.

Travel Insured’s Worldwide Assistance Services are provided with every plan and are accessible by free phone call 24/7 from anywhere you travel worldwide.
