Plans That Include Emergency Evacuation And Repatriation

This benefit includes three types of coverage:

Emergency Evacuation (Medevac)

Emergency Evacuation provides coverage when your medical condition requires immediate transportation to the nearest hospital at which you can receive the medical treatment you need for sickness or injury.

A licensed physician working Travel Insured's assistance company determines the best and closest hospital for you to be taken to if local medical facilities are not adequate. The covered costs can include a land or air ambulance, or commercial airliner, a medical escort if one is recommended by the attending physician, and return flight with you for any of your dependent children by economy air service.

After 7 days of hospitalization, and if you were traveling alone, Emergency Evacuation can cover the air cost of bringing a family member to the hospital to which you were evacuated.

In extreme conditions, such as ocean rescue, mountain rescue and remote rescue, helicopter or specially arranged flights may be covered.

Medically Necessary Repatriation

After you have been evacuated or treated for a covered medical expense, Medically Necessary Repatriation provides coverage for transportation to return you to your home or a medical facility, with a medical escort if necessary.

Repatriation of Remains

Repatriation of Remains covers expenses for transporting your remains home if you die due to any accident or medical reason while on your trip. This coverage can avoid an enormous logistical and financial burden for your family at a time of unexpected tragedy and grief.
