East Hartford, CT - May 5, 2010 - Airports around Europe have been recovering from the initial events of the Iceland volcano Eyjafjallajokull with commercial air traffic returning to normal on April 22, 2010. Travel Insured policies provide Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption coverage for unforeseen events as defined in our policies to mean “not anticipated or expected and occurring after the effective date of coverage”.

Travel Insured customers who purchased policies between April 15 and April 22, 2010 are not eligible for coverage for events due to the eruption of Eyjafjallajokull and resulting ash cloud which grounded flights throughout much of Europe.

However, coverage continues to be available for Travel Insured policy holders for any new events that may be caused by future eruptions of the Eyjafjallajokull volcano, provided the policy is purchased prior to such future event.

Please review your Description of Coverage or contact Travel Insured directly for questions on coverage as the benefits and coverage vary based upon which policy you have purchased.
