A Tropical Storm was identified at 5 a.m. EDT on Saturday, June 26, 2010 in the western Caribbean Sea, 220 miles east of Belize City, Belize, and was given the name Tropical Storm Alex by the U.S. National Weather Service Hurricane Center. The storm was named after reaching maximum sustained winds of 40 miles per hour as it moved to the west-northwest across Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula into the Gulf of Mexico.
Travel Insured International plans purchased on or after June 26, 2010 will not provide coverage for adverse weather claims due to Tropical Storm Alex or its resulting weather pattern.
