A Tropical Storm was identified at 2:00 p.m. EDT on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011 after reaching sustained winds of 40 miles per hour at a location about 275 miles southeast of Bermuda. It was given the name Tropical Storm Gert by the U.S. National Weather Service Hurricane Center, and was moving north-northwest over the Atlantic Ocean.
