Hurricane Sandy, identified on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012 has now been named a Category 2 hurricane with winds between 96 and 110 mph (154 and 177 kph). Sandy is moving toward the North near 20 MPH and is expected to turn North-Northwest. A tropical storm warning along the Florida east coast has been extended northward to the state's Flagler Beach and a tropical storm watch has been issued for the northeastern Florida coast from Fernandina beach southward to north of Flagler Beach.
