Help U.S. Government Keep In Touch Overseas with STEP Program

by User Not Found | Feb 15, 2011

The U.S. State Department is offering a new, free program for Americans heading overseas called Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP). The program allows the State Department to better keep in touch with you and provide help in case of political unrest, such as recent events in Egypt, or a natural disaster such as the 2010 Haiti earthquake. U.S. Consulates and Embassies around the world can contact you and your loved ones through the STEP enrollment.

Enrolled members also receive email updates, travel advisories and information on the country or countries where they will be traveling. You can click on the following link for information - Smart Traveler Enrollment Program – or visit
