If You Don't Go Without Health Insurance at Home, Why Take the Risk While You're Away?

Travel Insured provides coverage for medical expenses incurred during travel, particularly outside of the U.S., that health insurance providers frequently deny as out of network. With the medical benefits included in our plans, you can help ensure access to quality medical treatment wherever you travel and protect yourself from unexpected travel medical and evacuation expenses.

Our Worldwide Trip Protector plans include:

  • Coverage for medical expense due to accident or sickness while you’re away
  • Hospital admission guarantee, with advance payment if required
  • Physician-coordinated emergency evacuation and transportation home due to medical reasons
  • Trip Cancellation or Trip Interruption due to a medical reason affecting yourself, or your spouse, child, parent, domestic partner, or other family member (even if the other person is not insured or not traveling)

*Waiver of the Pre-existing Medical Conditions Exclusion

The Pre-existing Medical Conditions Waiver is available in Worldwide Trip Protector Plus and Worldwide Trip Protector if you purchase your plan within 21 after your trip deposit date. The Pre-existing Medical Conditions Waiver is not purchased separately.

The Pre-existing Medical Conditions Waiver applies to Accident and Sickness Medical Expense, the Medical Upgrade, and medically related reasons for Trip Cancellation. Even if you don't purchase your plan within the required time frame for pre-existing medical conditions waiver, the Emergency Evacuation, Medically Necessary Repatriation and Repatriation of Remains benefit covers pre-existing medical conditions.

If the medical condition and its treatment have remained unchanged for 60 days prior to the day you purchase your plan, it is not considered pre-existing and is covered as a regular medical condition for Trip Cancellation/Interruption, Accident and Sickness Medical Expense, and the Medical Upgrade even if you do not purchase your plan within the time limits mentioned above.

From U.S. State Department's Traveler's Checklist:

"Make sure you have health insurance whenever you are traveling abroad. If your U.S. health care plan does not cover you overseas, consider buying supplemental insurance to cover medical costs and emergency evacuation. Foreign hospitals and doctors often require payment in cash, and Emergency medical evacuation can cost up to $100,000. Social Security and Medicare does not provide coverage outside of the United States."
