Government Shutdown

by Travel Insured | Jan 09, 2019

As the government shutdown continues on, many travelers are beginning to question how it will affect their upcoming travel plans. After taking a further look into the current situation, Travel Insured’s position states that workers furloughed during the government shutdown are considered to be “laid off” for the purposes of the Trip Cancellation and Trip interruption coverages.  Therefore, plan holders whose travel itineraries are affected, may be eligible for coverage under these benefits.

We also remind travelers that by investing in a plan with Cancel for Any Reason Coverage, you are able to cancel your plans and get up to 75% of your total prepaid, nonrefundable trip cost for any reason you choose that is not otherwise covered by your plan. You just have to cancel 48 or more hours prior to your scheduled departure date in order to be eligible. This benefit is available in the Worldwide Trip Protector Plus plan if the plan is purchased no longer than 21 days after the date your initial trip deposit date is received (additional terms applies).

It is always important to check the terms of the protection plan you are considering before making the purchase, to ensure you are receiving the coverage you need. Please contact us at 1-800-243-3174 or www.travelinsured.com.
