We all know about some of the most visited and highly rated places in the U.S., like Las Vegas, Orlando, NYC, etc. So, we wanted to take some time to inspire you to visit some lesser-known cities with all the spark and spunk you could ever want on a vacation. Who knows, maybe you'll be inspired to add them to your domestic travel bucket list!

Knoxville, TN

People usually think of Nashville when they think of Tennessee, but the city of Knoxville also has a lot to offer and will give you that same southern country music vibe.  Plus, there’s a plethora of restaurants to feed your foodie heart and a bar scene you won’t want to miss out on!

Burlington, VT

Most of us imagine miles of forests and quaint bed and breakfasts when we think of Vermont. However, that may not be the case when visiting Burlington. Church Street offers a wide variety of food and entertainment for every age group. Don’t forget to grab some Ben & Jerry’s ice cream before heading back home. Afterall, Burlington is the birthplace of this, oh so decadent, treat enjoyed all over the world.

San Antonio, TX

Texas has a lot to offer. San Antonio is one spot that sometimes gets overlooked. This family friendly town has a variety of attractions such as the River Walk, spectacular museum experiences, the San Antonio Zoo, and much more. Be sure to add it to your U.S. destination bucket list.

Portland, ME

Exploring New England is a great idea for those who love a little bit of a chill and fresh lobster! Even if you don’t eat lobster, you can enjoy all the history, shopping, and beer tasting at your disposal.

Sedona, AZ

Consider venturing to the southwest corner of the U.S. next time you plan a vacation. Sedona is the perfect place to view some of remarkable natural beauty in North America. Enjoy the incredible southwestern region without the tourist crowds of Phoenix or the Grand Canyon.

Molokai, HI

If you're looking to completely immerse yourself in Hawaiian culture, this is the place to do it. This Hawaiian Island is truly a hidden gem in the U.S. Sea cliffs where perfect beaches, waterfalls and much more come together to create an impressive landscape.

Finger Lakes, NY

Although upstate New York may not have as many lights and taxis as Manhattan, it has a charm of its own. If you love lake life, then you may just enjoy a vacation up here. Ditch the car and grab a boat. And be sure to stop by a few of the wineries to get a taste of the local flavors.

Pittsburgh, PA

Don’t worry, we’re sure you’ll still be able to get a Philly cheesesteak. Pittsburgh is a great place for everyone, no matter your preference – art, food, sports etc. Check out the Andy Warhol Museum and then catch a Steeler’s game.

Traverse City, MI

Looking for a place to go in the summer and the winter? Consider Traverse City. The summer is a great time for wine tastings and the Cherry festival. Winter gives you the opportunity for skiing and snowboarding. Don’t forget it next time you’re considering a U.S. vacation.

Take some time to look into these off the beaten path U.S. destinations. Maybe you’ll be inspired to add your own locations to the list.
