Default & Bankruptcy Coverage

Travel Insured includes in its comprehensive Worldwide Trip Protector, Trip Protector Gold or Trip Protector Lite Expanded plan the Trip Cancellation or Trip Interruption coverage for the default or bankruptcy of your travel supplier. The default or bankruptcy must occur more than 14 days after the effective date of your insurance plan. Your plan must have been purchased within 14 days of your initial trip deposit.

Please remember that this coverage does not apply if the travel agency or travel supplier that obtained the insurance plan for you and sold you the air or land travel arrangements is the same travel company that defaults or goes bankrupt. In the case of an airline bankruptcy, this coverage applies only when no alternative air transportation is available. If there is alternative transportation, your plan will only cover any change fees involved in getting you on the flights that get you to your intended destination.
