The Cancel for Work Reasons Option featuring upgraded Job Loss Protection is included on all Worldwide Trip Protector Gold Plans and available with all Worldwide Trip Protector Plans, including the comprehensive Worldwide Trip Protector, Lite or Lite Expanded. This option directly addresses consumer concerns about job security, protecting against potential work disruptions to travel when you have a job, or financial concerns when you lose one.
Job Loss Protection in Cancel for Work Reasons means that you are covered for Trip Cancellation or Trip Interruption when you are terminated from employment after you have worked for one (1) continuous year at the place where your job is lost. This Job Loss Protection is an upgrade from the three (3) continuous years of work required at the place of job loss for this coverage to apply without the Cancel for Work Reasons Option.
The Cancel for Work Reasons Option, which must be purchased within 14 days of your initial trip deposit, also allows an Insured or their Traveling Companion to cancel their trip due to a documented work conflict.
- A job requires the insured or traveling companion to work during the scheduled trip, as documented by a notarized officer’s statement.
- The insured or travel companion’s company has been made unsuitable to do business due to a natural disaster, fire, flood, vandalism or burglary.
- The insured or traveling companion’s company is involved in an acquisition or merger in which he or she is directly involved.
- The insured or traveling companion’s company relocates his or her job 250 miles or more requiring the relocation of his or her primary residence.
Travel Insured reimburses a covered Trip Cancellation under Job Loss Protection with a cash refund up to the full trip cost.
