What Travel Supplier Bankruptcy Or Default Covers
Bankruptcy or default of your travel supplier, such as an airline or cruise company, is included in Trip Cancellation/Interruption coverage.
You must purchase your policy no more than 30 days after your initial trip deposit for the Worldwide Trip Protector Gold plan, no more than 21 days for the Worldwide Trip Protector plan, and no more than 14 days for the Trip Protector Lite Expanded plan. This coverage in not available in the Trip Protector Lite plans.
The default or bankruptcy must occur more than 14 days after you purchase your insurance plan.
In the case of an airline bankruptcy, change fees are covered if an alternate flight is available, and trip cancellation is covered if no alternate flight is available.
Please note that this coverage does not apply if the travel agency or travel supplier that obtained the insurance plan for you and sold you the air or land travel arrangements is the same travel company that defaults or goes bankrupt.
