Our optional pet bundle is designed to give you some added reassurance when traveling with your pets. This coverage helps safeguard your furry friends by providing benefits for unexpected medical expenses, kennel fees or expenses, and pet return while you’re away from home. With the pet bundle, you can focus on enjoying your trip, knowing that your pets are protected every step of the way.
What the Pet Bundle Can Cover
The Optional Pet Bundle gives you additional insurance benefits related to your pet. This includes more covered reasons for Trip Cancellation and Interruption and benefits for Pet Kennel, Pet Travel Medical Expense, and Pet Return.
Trip Cancellation or Interruption
Adds a covered reason, for if you or your traveling companion's pet or service animal is sick, diagnosed with a terminal illness, injured, or dies within 30 days before your departure date or while you are on the trip.
Pet Kennel
If you are delayed by at least 3 hours on your way to your return destination, this benefit can help cover additional kennel fees or expenses. You must have placed your pet in a licensed commercial kennel for the duration of your trip and be unable to collect your pet on the day previously agreed upon with the kennel.
Pet Return
If you are hospitalized during your trip and unable to travel due to a covered sickness or injury, this benefit provides reimbursement for the transportation expenses to return your pet(s) or service animal(s) back to your primary residence in the U.S. The transportation expense may include the cost of an attendant, if necessary.
Pet Travel Medical Expense
If your pet or service animal is with you on a trip and suffers an injury or sickness that requires emergency medical treatment by a vet, this benefit can help provide reimbursement. Refer to the plan document for full details and exclusions.
